Real-Life Decision Making

It's spring. The grass is green, the flowers are blooming and your allergies are flaring up.

Usually you can keep your allergies under control by taking antihistamines, but you forgot to bring them with you to work today. As a result, your eyes are itchy and watery, making it tough to see clearly.

You're a tool and die maker. It's you're job to make precision tooling using complex and potentially dangerous machinery. Foggy vision won't do. However, getting behind on your work is a problem too, because the company is behind on its contracts as it is.

You decide to see if any of your co-workers have any antihistamines. Jackpot! One of your co-workers goes to his locker and returns with a package of antihistamines, handing you two. You gulp them down, looking forward to the relief they'll give you and prepare to go back to work.

"Uh-oh," says your co-worker, who was reading the box while you swallowed. "These aren't the non-drowsy kind. It says here you're not supposed to operate any heavy machinery."

Now he tells you! You could choose to play it safe and go home while the antihistamine runs its course. You'll get pretty far behind on your work, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Or you could choose to stay and complete your day's work. You're pretty sure the antihistamines won't have that dramatic of an effect on you and you know you don't want to get almost a whole day behind. What do you do?
